Before Class
Italian Phrase of the Day:È parcheggiare disponibile? Is parking available?
Well, as you see, the quotations at the bottom have changed. I really want to go to Italy but this morning I am swinging back to the "what if’s…" What I really need to do is commit some money. Then I will definitely go. I am far too frugal {ummm cheap?
} to waste money, especially as much money as this is going to be. Ok, I need to stop lollygagging around on this and choose a place and a time and get started. The "what if’s " are not going to stop me from doing this. If something does happen, I will deal with it…
I studied the verbs and the vocabulary words yesterday and decided that I didn’t need to ask Fred to test me because I was remembering prretty well. What I am going to do for studying this morning is to write the verb forms and the nouns in English in a different order that from how I have been studying and see how I do in writing the Italian equivalent. Any I get wrong, I will write correctly five times. I write so much when I am learning because this is the primary way I learn. When I was younger and competing in spelling bees, as I was spelling aloud, at my side, and almost imperceptibly, my right index finger was tracing the letters!
I will have a pot of yogurt as part of my breakfast this morning because I put the pots in the refrigerator last night and they should be nice and tangy this morning. I also made some pretty good scones yesterday, despite being interrupted in the middle by a phone call! Well, I just continued what I was doing with one hand while talking to my BIL in England! One thing I did do wrong was that I set the temperature on this electric oven that we have but forgot to tell it to start! So, when I had finished cutting up the dough for the scones, I looked over to the oven readout and saw it was off. I had to wait through the pre-heat cycle again. If you remember that we have been in this apartment since September of last year, you will realise I do very little cooking!
Fred is the cook in this family and I am so glad he enjoys cooking! I can do it, but I really don’t enjoy it.
I got email from Leslie, my walking buddy, this morning telling me she is taking some time off work. She didn’t say if it was just today or a few days but I am sure she will let me know. So, am I going walking by myself? Well, it depends on {a} the temperature which I haven’t looked at yet and {b} how I feel after breakfast. Much to my surprise, I am stomach-grumblingly hungry this morning. I usually eat breakfast but not until about 9 am and it is 8 am at the moment. And I ate two helpings of the goulash Fred made last night so my stomach shouldn’t be giving me signals so early!
Today:
- check temperature and if it is not in the "feels like minus…" area, walk
- eat
- study for test
- leave a note on the door for the Schwan man
- clean ice off my car and get it warmed up
- leave early enough to get a cup of hot chocolate at Starbucks. {Yes, I know it is expensive for what it is but it has become a part of my twice a week routine this winter
}
QUOTATIONS FOR THIS MONTH: Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I don’t think about risks much. I just do what I want to do. If you gotta go, you gotta go.

I guess I don’t think about risks much either! But it does seem like the people who think about risks less, enjoy living more, and do more things. :o) !! I hope you have a lovely day; I just got back from a walk in the snow! hugs, Weesprite

Great quotes. The older I get the more timid I get about taking risks, and I’ve always been pretty timid, but now it’s worse. I applaud that you are able to face and overcome your fears and take on new challenges all the time. Gives me hope for my future, and you are a great example to me.
