A Whole Lotta Lumps
Today was Mother’s Day, the 2025 edition. The day just sort of came and passed me by and it wasn’t a big deal for me like I assume it might be for other people. Mom died in 2018. Grandma died in 2008. They both played a role in raising me and I know that they both continue to live on, within me. But as it stands, today was just another day.

Someone sent me that picture above and somehow, it made me feel okay about today. I suppose today wasn’t as bad as I might make it sound, being that when she was alive, Mom really didn’t care much for Mother’s Day or anything we might have done to celebrate it. So, in death, I still don’t make a spectacle or event of Mother’s Day. To me (and I guess to her, had she still been alive), it’s just another Sunday on the calendar. I think about Mom all the time, so really, today really wouldn’t be unlike any other day.
Mom grew up with the Looney Tunes and all the characters within that universe I was fortunate enough to have also grown up watching those same characters decades later. Above is our favorite cartoon from the Looney Tunes universe, titled “Rabbit’s Kin”, which features the iconic Bugs Bunny, as well as the lesser known character, Pete Puma. I always loved these kinds of cartoons, because they made making fun of dumb “things” normal and for the period of time that said cartoon was running, it was simple, innocent, and such a good time. There was absolutely none of that retarded woke shit that is gradually ruining the world today. Indeed, life was so much better then. I miss it. As much as Pete Puma is a relative unknown in the animation and even Looney Tunes world, that cartoon right there is a classic. I would have liked to have posted the entire cartoon, but for some reason, the cartoon in its entirety isn’t there on YouTube. The best I could do was this clip, which doesn’t disappoint and effectively shows the highlights of the actual cartoon.

Mom was also a huge fan of Felix the Cat. Again, this would be another cartoon character of yesteryear, one that I think is especially obscure today. Who could forget Felix’s Magic Bag of Tricks?

Without making this entry overdone with a bunch of pictures, I’ll make the mention of yet another Looney Tunes character that Mom loved, though she could never seem to remember his name. That would be good old Gossamer, featured above. I want to say he appeared in a handful of cartoons, at least one of which featured Bugs Bunny. I don’t remember if he ever spoke, but it didn’t matter because Bugs would have his way with him regardless.
All right. Enough with the pictures. I’ll revert to using my words again.
I miss Mom, maybe just a little bit more on Mother’s Day. Her memory, much like the characters I’ve mentioned in this entry, lives on.
And yes, I still watch cartoons to this day, especially the ones that Disney DOESN’T make.
Mom knew a thing or two about cartoons, as well as life in general. I still miss her dearly, but thankfully, we’ll always have these cartoons and these classic characters of old.
