July Couldn’t Get Here Fast Enough
On my early morning drive to work today, the song above just so happened to come on the local radio. Seemed appropriate enough, I’d say.
Today would be July 1st, 2025. The year does not matter, as much as the month does. This means that June is finally behind us and not a moment too soon either. For the past few years, I’ve dreaded the month of June. It’s just one of those things, I suppose. Thankfully, like a herpes outbreak, June just comes and goes. I am well aware that June will be here again next year, but we’re several months away from that and for the time being , it’s “out of sight, out of mind”. The earth continues to rotate.
Indeed, it is the first of the month. 2025 is just moving right along, isn’t it?
The summer temperatures in the immediate area have been cooler than I’m used to. I’m reluctantly waiting for the temperatures to cross into that 100-degree range, which is typical for these parts at this time of year. It hasn’t happened yet, but I anticipate that they’re coming. It’s only a matter of when.
It’s still early in the current week. Not a whole lot has transpired since I last wrote.
My modified top loader NES arrived in the mail yesterday. Haven’t plugged it in yet and tried it out. Though I’m confident that it works fine, I probably should test it and make sure that it is functional. I shouldn’t be that trusting, especially when it comes to retro gaming consoles, but I remain lazy. I really need to stop being that way, but old habits die hard.
I’m looking to buy some high-quality decals/stickers so that I can decorate two of my PS3 consoles. Both consoles are your standard black and in their current states, they are pretty bland. They need some flair, some pizzazz. I have some ideas, but I haven’t committed to anything yet.
I’m still getting reports submitted for approval at work. My push to get my numbers down continues and I know that Christina is really appreciative of my efforts. She’s still not motivating me (which she doesn’t need to do), as much as I can see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel and I’m keeping myself motivated. As I mentioned before, I’m willing to do whatever I need to, to keep management off our collective backs. So far, so good.
I thought I’d have more to write, but I was wrong. We’ll just leave things right there then.
I can’t say that things will be more exciting tomorrow or even further into the week. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
But at the very least, July is finally upon us.
