Nothing Chaotic Or Random
That’s how I prefer things to be in my life. Nothing complicated. Nothing dramatic. Just simple.
As far as the week that was, it wasn’t too out-of-the-ordinary.
I worked, as I do. I was again productive. I submitted more reports for approval, which helped get management off my back for at least another week or two. It also got Christina off the hot seat, as she was able to proudly report my productivity to management. My productivity tends to make Christina look good, as management tends to believe that she was responsible for all the work I did this past week. She didn’t motivate me or do anything to make me do my job. I was just able to focus and do what I’m supposed to do and again, to the standards that I have long since established for myself. So, in that regard, work was work and I got a lot done. I’m looking to continue this productivity into the coming week. I’m also hoping that there isn’t some kind of office-wide e-mail sent in the days to come, giving me and likely other people credit for literally doing their jobs. I don’t need that dumb kind of pat on the back.
To nobody’s surprise, I also worked this past weekend. The overtime train continues to move, just like I do.

I did a little bit of what I like to call “cleaning house”. As you’ll see in that picture above, that would be an empty plastic case for your standard-sized Funko Pop! figure. It’s the kind of case one might use to protect a valuable, though preferably, unopened Funko Pop! figure. As a Christmas gift in 2023, someone had given me that case, though not empty, mind you. It had a figure in there, though not a particularly valuable one.

As you can clearly see with that picture above, I took care of that. If you get bored, feel free to visit eBay and search “funko pop kratos 25”. When the results pop up, you’ll see what I mean. Before I put this figure in this protective case, I had Kratos sitting in a plastic bin, where no one could see and otherwise enjoy him. Now, he remains protected and visible. He makes for quite the spectacle.

Last week, I had a chance to play DOOM: The Dark Ages for the Xbox Series X. That would be the exact disc that I played, which was sent to me by the good folks at Gamefly. I don’t want this entry to be a review of the game, so I won’t go in-depth as to my findings. Actually, my findings wouldn’t have been that deep anyway. The game is playable. It has its moments, I suppose, but in the end, it didn’t draw me in. I sort of knew that going in, given what Jay had told me some weeks earlier. It’s DOOM. It’s a first-person shooter. It’s violent. It’s not a bad game. It’s just not for me. I sent it back to Gamefly on Monday. As of this writing, I await my next game.
I am optimistic that the coming week will be just as good as last week and I will be just as productive.
Nothing chaotic or random.
Just productivity and nothing stupid.
I remain hopeful.
I just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading your entry. Thank you for sharing that little slice of life.
@piratecaptainagain Thank you for reading my stuff. The slices of my life aren’t always appetizing, but at the very least, they’re all very real and honest.
