Restoring The Spice Of Gaming

I haven’t done much gaming of late and a few of my gaming-related projects have been put on that proverbial back burner.  I don’t have any physical hardware modifications in the works.  Everything I’m looking to do would be along the lines of doing internal modifications and testing consoles that I picked up months ago.  I just want to make sure that everything works as intended.  I’ll get back to spending my leisurely time doing that stuff again soon.

In general, gaming has been slow these last few weeks, at least since I modified that Spice Orange GameCube and got that thing fully up and running.  I’d like to pick up a matching Spice Orange Gameboy Player for it, but that’s not necessarily a priority right now.  Those add-ons aren’t too expensive thankfully, but again, I just don’t have the time to “work” on my GameCube at the moment.

I recently picked up “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers” for the PS5.  By “recently”, I mean the day it was released.  This would be another one of those games that I’m not necessarily dying to play at launch, but one that I wanted to buy to show support of the game development team and those who are responsible for getting this game made and out there in gaming landscape.  As I write this, the game remains in plastic and it has not been opened.  It is still sealed.  This game isn’t “woke”, which sadly, is the main criteria for me, now when it comes to buying games.  If a game is going to get people riled up because it’s deemed as somehow lacking diversity, there’s a good chance that gamers like me will like it and want to support it.  I bought Stellar Blade, also for the PS5, with this same mentality.  The woke mob wanted to take offense with how they created the protagonist in that game, because she looked sexy and dressed in garb that matched her sexy look.  I’m old enough to remember when video games featured female characters that looked sexy and sadly, because of the world today, that sort of game design technique has stalled.  For some, this is a tragic turn of events, now that game design looks to have taken a considerable turn for the worst.  I don’t feel like getting into a full-blown rant about how gaming has gone woke, but wokeness has adversely affected the gaming landscape.

That smaller picture is that of Eve, the protagonist in Stellar Blade.

I don’t know what my next gaming purchase will be, but rest assured that if it’s a game that will rile up the woke mob, I’m buying it.  I may never play this game, but I will support it by purchasing it.
