Blogathon # 13: being where you want to be

Time Posted: 3:01pm EST

Everything is pretty quiet here. The kids and Leah are all napping. Chris has left to take care of something out there. The dog is sleeping on the couch and I have have an ice pack on each foot. I have a feeling I’ll be using those bad boys a lot as the day goes on. I just have a feeling it’s going to be a long, long twenty-four hours today. But I have to keep remembering it’s all for a good cause and I can take it. I’ve been taking it for a while now, so today should be no different!

Chris and Leah are here to help at least. I remember last year when she took off during the blogathon to go drinking with her friends. Less than an hour after she took off the baby woke up and that resulted in a lot of really, really short entries. She has plans for the weekend, but thankfully they’re not till tomorrow afternoon. With Chris here to look after the kids, I’ll be free to pass out at 9am tomorrow and will sleep for the next day or two. Leah’s going to a bridal shower for a wedding we’ll be attending in mid August. I’ve known the bride since she was 1 year old, so this will be an interesting one to attend.

I don’t have any daughters, so I’m not going to have to worry about giving anyone away at weddings. I love my boys though and I’m sure they’ll find some nice people to settle down with. As long as they are happy, my feelings on the matter are little and even insignificant. It’s what I told Chris when he occassionaly airs his displeasure with his other sister-in-law. The fact is our brother is happy and has a family he loves, and in the face of that our opinons mean two thinks: Jack and Shit.

When it comes to being with the one you love, only one person’s say has the ultimate ruling: you. That’s it. Don’t listen to anyone else, cause you’re the one who has to live with that person possibly for the rest of your life. No one elses say should hold even half the weight your does.

Okay, I’m going to stop that entry there before it gets any more mushy…

That was actually a really sweet entry. I’m glad u have that attitude about ur boys… Leah will be a little more discerning about what kind of women those two settle down with though, I have a feeling! Mom’s are different 🙂
