Blogathon # 30: The Bourne Ultimatum
Time Posted: 11:30pm EST
I told you Chris was likely going to watch a movie before he went to bed tonight and I was right. He popped in his special edition DVD of The Bourne Identity and has it playing very loudly in the background. It’s a fantastic movie, and right now he’s at the part with the car chase in downtown Paris. It’s an amazing movie, and it’s hard to believe that this movie is half a decade old… already! It came out in the summer of 2002… and I remember the first time I saw it.
That was the summer I was on South Korea, teaching English. The movie released late in Asia so I didn’t get to see it until October even though it came out mid summer in North America. I went to see it alone, and I likely was the only guy who didn’t need any of the sub-titles to know what was going on. Here’s another cute fact, the theatre was packed, and I was the only white guy in the building… very weird to say the least. But I loved watching the movie on the big screen, as did the rest of the audience. They loved watching Damon as the action hero and this was an amazing role for him…
Now five years later, the third of the three original Robert Ludlum books is coming to the big screen titled ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’… and from the looks of the trailer, this movie looks just as impressive as the previous two movies:
Looks like another winner to me… can’t wait to see it. Leah hinted at maybe checking it out next weekend when it opens.
My response: Twist my rubber arm!

Funny, I haven’t seen any of the Bourne movies yet, even though the first two are on cable just about every day. Maybe I’ll wait until the third one comes out on DVD and make a marathon of it. Great work on the Blogathon so far…hang in there. I signed up but forgot that this was my weekend to work, so I’m out. 🙁

I need to see the “Bourne” movies one of these days … I think Rob (my guy) wants to go see the new one in theaters.

Hey if you need an idea, how about that teaching in south korea gig? I see a lot of ads for that (working in colleges) and know some people who were loking to do it. What was your experience like?
