Blogathon # 38: Going to extremes

Posted at 3:33am EST

My foot is still sore and really swollen, so I’m icing again a little more extreme this time though. I filled a bucket full of cold water and dumped a few trays of ice cubes into it. That works a lot better than the ice packs did, and I’ve been switching feet every 10-15 minutes. Hope this keeps things down for a while. I’m gonna have to contact my family doctor on Monday about this, but I will keep my eye on it in the meantime. Besides that, I’m doing all right. I’m not as tired as I thought I would be, and I hope everyone else is doing all right as well.

This is the first time I had this kind of reaction to anything before. Chris is afraid it’s an allergic reaction, but normally don’t those kind of reactions work a little faster? I know someone who was allergic to bees get stung in the foot one time, and it took less than 30 mins for them to completely swell up and stop breathing, and since my feet have been swollen for days… I’m not too worried about it at the moment. I’ve stopped taking the med that I think is causing the problems, so I think that will prevent it from at least getting worse. It’s a shame I don’t have my digital camera here, cause then I could have taken a picture and let everyone else decide how good or bad it is. My Mom is a retired nurse so she wouldn’t have hesitated to toss in her 2 cents on that. But I forgot it at the party last week, so I can’t do that this time out.

Leah originally didn’t want me to write the blogathon this year, and this was before the foot thing started. The good news is my blood pressure and head are find right now… and I’ve been all right tonight so far. If something gets out of whack, I will pull the plug but we’ve haven’t gotten that far yet (knock on wood). But right now I’m doing all right and will be here till the end if I can help it. Hope everyone else is doing all right and I’ll be back in 30!

I hope you get better, and soon. Again, kudos to you for “braving” it all for the ‘thon … If you haven’t already, write an entry about your I’m assuming, medical problems/conditions. If you have written about it? Kindly link me to said entry or entries in your next post. Thanks much! P.S. I am starting to get tired, but know I’ll get my second wind soon. What ideas would you give a first timer like me for getting over the cranky tiredness? Hahahahahaha.

P.S. I am planning on deleting my diary and leaving OD once the blogathon is over … make that WAS. Now I don’t want to. You’re cool, damn it. How is it that in my 6+ years, I haven’t come across you before?

Hang in there!

Eeek. I just read your front page and saw you aren’t a fan of naughty words. I’m very sorry if my sailor mouth has offended you 🙁 Now I feel bad. And I never.ever feel bad.
