Busy week and crappy weather

It’s been a pretty crappy week weather wise here on the island, and that combined with my health issues have made things done. With the sore jaw/head and missing a crapload of time… the last thing I wanted to hear is that there’s no OT offered this weekend for the first time in months. Oh well, I’ll get around it. But once I started to feel better, I managed to get out of the house and do a few things with friends. I went out to supper with Lady Deanna and a few other friends. We went out to a really nice Italian joint and had some great grub. One of my friends there, Stephen, was dying to check out a movie… so we tagged along. Deanna was rather cool about it since he wanted to check out a movie she rarely prefers to watch. We went out and saw ‘Scary Movie 4′ and spent a good 90 minutes laughing our asses off. The plot was dumb, but the jokes and the slapstick was priceless and had the entire crowd rolling on the ground. I though Stephen was going having seizure, he was laughing that hard. Those kind of movies will never win any Oscars, but I tell ya it’s nice to just go out and laugh your ass off for a good while. Very stress relieveing. Good times were had by all, and that made for a bitchin’ Thursday night.

Friday a friend of mine (Keith) and I were supposed to go downtown. I had promised him I would, and even though I wasn’t 100%… it was something I was going to follow through with. Thankfully Old Man Winter came in with the save and gave us pretty shitty weather for late April. We had snow all day Friday, and the conditions were so crappy… Keith pulled the plug and cancelled our excursion downtown. We’ll do that another time. Keith is a good guy and has been itching to hit George Street with me so sometime before the wife and kids come back, I’ll grant him that wish once. I never liked the downtown scene, but one more time won’t kill me…

I had Saturday off, and while I considered going down to the mall to check out another movie, the weather was still rather shitty… so I decided to stay close to home and do other things. I went back to the gym for another 2 hr workout and then went grocery shopping before spending the rest of the night at home. I cooked up an awesome pasta that I can’t usually make when Leah and the kids are home. Well, I think Ethan would eat it… but I know Leah wouldn’t. She hates Alfredo sauce so I bought some last night, fried up fresh mushrooms and the also fried up ground lamb. I mixed up the lamb with mushroomed and cooked them both up with 2 minced cloves of garlic and then added the alfredo sauce. Then I boiled a pot of pasta shells and mixed it all up. That was a fantastic meal, and I ate half of it while watching a new episode of 24 that I recorded on the DVR last week. I save the other half for today’s lunch. After that I talked to Leah online, watched Kill Bill Vol. 2 before heading to bed for the night.

So here I am today at work. Originally I was supposed to have today off, but I traded it to get Tuesday off. I have an appointment with the Dentist that day and with that day off and the next off as well, I’ll have to time to recover incase it’s not pretty. I hate Dentists, and everything they stand for. In over fifty years, they’ve been unable (or unwilling) to advance the technology for their profession. You’d think they’d be above hooks and sharp objects by now. Every other profession is advancing leaps and bounds, yet they seem content to stick their current racket I guess cause it rakes in the big money. I’m not too fond of them, and I’ve had a bad history with them… but at this moment I’ll have to bite the bullet and get this over with to avoid what happened last week. Hopefully if I’m able to, I’ll post an entry that day to let you all know what happened.

But for now I’m at the center and taking calls, working on the net and fixing problems. I hit the gym earlier today and worked out for over 90 minutes. Felt good to get out there and pump some iron before work. I actually have more energy when I’m work if I hit the gym before logging in for the day. Things are on the up and up and I think Leah and the kids will notice a change when they see me next month. Should be cool to see them again, cause I miss them all so, so much. I got to see Jonathan and Ethan online with a webcam last night and they looked a lot bigger. Jonathan is growing like weed, and is even eating cereal now. Ethan is talking a lot more now and it was weird yet at the same time great to hear him say ‘Hi Daddy’ when I was on the phone. My boys are growing so fast!
