Diet cheating and some new toys…

Even though I’m trying hard to watch what I eat, I’m not a fool. I know there are going to be moments when I’m going to eat something I’m not supposed to and have to start over again. Yesterday was one of those days. I was over a friend’s place, and he wanted to order a Pizza. So we ordered an all meat Pizza and I had about four slices. They were rather thin, and I also had a few garlic fingers and some soda. It’s all right splurge everynow and then. It was only Pizza, and while I’m sure its not the healthiest thing, we could have done a lot worse where take out is concerned. It was a nice treat, and I don’t mind doing stuff like that every now and then. The idea is to make stuff like that the treat, rather than the norm. That’s the entire point of trying to change my eating habits, not just faste for a quick diet. I want these changes to be long term, so small moments of Pizza and Pop are not going to dent my long term goals as long as these splurges remain few and far between.

Speaking of splurges, I’ve finally picked up one of those items I’ve been dying to get for a while now. I worked a lot of OT and yesterday I reeped the rewards as I finally got the Playstation 2 that I’ve been Itching for quite a while. Before I made the purchase, I made sure everything else was taken care of first… paying off all the bills and making up a budget for food and other things to make sure I make it to the next cheque. So all eggs are hatched, I’m good to last until the next payday, and with that all done… I spent only $125 Canadian Pesos to get my Playstation, and it is amazing. It’s practically new and was returned for no reason at all. My buds all agree I couldn’t have got a better deal with a gun, and I paid an extra few bucks to get an extended warranty, so if it breaks down… i can take it back to get replaced.

Then I spent an additional few bucks to get a few more games, and I picked some real winners here. I got the newest Wrestling game titled “Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006” … It’s a sweet game and while I’m having problems getting the hang of this game… that’s a good thing cause I don’t want something easy that I’ll be able to conquer too quickly. I also picked up two more other sweet games, those being MVP Baseball 2004, and the new James Bond game “From Russia With Love” which has Sean Connery doing the voice of Bond. That game is all retro and it’s just seeping with coolness. This game is also very difficult, but I look forward to hours of mastering it while staying out of trouble. This will be a great distraction, but I’m not going to let it interfere with work or any time I want to do at the Gym. The P2 and it’s games are strictly for free time between all of those. So that will help me kill time until Leah and the kids come back from Tennessee. When that happens, I’ll play the game less and less but will likely have most of it out of my system by then.

I doubt Leah will be too impressed with my spending decisions, but she’ll get over it. I realize it wasn’t the most responsible decision to make but it was for me and I wanted something to take up my time for the next 50 days when it’s just going to be me and the cat at home. This will do the trick nicely, cause it will keep me away from the bars, from the pool halls and other places where I could waste a hell of a lot more money and have nothing to show for it. When or if I ever get over the P2, I can alway sell it, or save it for Ethan when he gets into the gaming mood years from now. So in the long run, this thing will pay itself off with endless hours of good fun. For me, it was a good purchase and for what I got… it was a good deal as to get everything brand new would have been way too much to get. I’m happy with it, and right now as I sit in the center, I’ve got something to look forward to. To get home and play a few games before going to bed. We’ll, I do that after I workout at the gym. Gotta be organized about things like this.

Well, speaking of work, I should get back to mine. Hope everyone is having a kickass Friday and I’ll be around…

Splurges are a must have from time to time.

We actually have x-box. Not the newest one thats out now but the older one & we love it! The gr8 thing bout the x-box is u don’t have to keep buying memory cards like u do with playstation. It can store so many games on it, its incredible. Anyway, its addictive to say the least, LoL Have fun! 🙂
