Eating better, feeling better…

One of the biggest things I have made an effort to do over the last few weeks since I started going to gym was make an effort to eat better. I had some very awful eating habits, and one while I know a major cause of it was a lack of will power, another was a very bad working schedule. Over the last year since I started working at the new center, I had been eating at very ackward times of the day. So with that in mind, I did my best to at least change what I was eating even if I couldn’t change change when I was eating.

A big factor had to be what I ordered out. There’s a massive fast food cafeteria five floors beneath my center, and it’s been hard to resist temptation with is so close and easy to access. To combat that I haven’t stopped my occassional take out, merely what I ordered. Instead of going to Taco Bell or Burger King, I’ve been more loyal to a deli that I get my morning Chai Tea from for lunches, and the manager who runs the place is a strict nutritionist, and refuses to let me consume something that doesn’t help me and my efforts to eat well. I’ve been getting custom made salads from him two or three times a week for my lunches. Lots of veggies, natural fibres and fig balsamic which I have rediscovered a love for… that shit rocks.

As a result after taking all these greens for the better part of three weeks, and cutting out almost all of the take out I eat… my body feels like it’s been flushed of a lot of crap. I feel better, I have more energy which is good for going to gym. I used to have caffine crashes as work and nod off sometimes between calls, and right now I’m not experiencing that problem anymore, thanks to eating better.

So while I haven’t had a chance to do my weekly body test yet with the Wii Fit, I’m happy with how I feel but there is still a lot of room for improvement. I need to go out more often and more constantly to the gym, and keep the schedule I make. While it’s easier said than done, I’m going to make a bigger effort to do it. I’m paying for it, I had better get my money’s worth. I also need to start making my own salads, which I have started to do. I will still buy my custom salad once or twice a week when I can afford it, but I can’t affort do do that all the time. So while I feel like things are going in the right direction, I need to still keep working at it and not slack off.

So today on my Sunday off, I will be doing a lot of cleaning around the house and then the Wii test when I get a chance. I’ll update this entry when I get a chance with the results of that test. Until then, everyone have a great weekend!

That’s nice to have the support of a nutritionist!!

Congrats on having the will power to keep the junk out of your mouth. When I am motivated, nothing can stop me from reaching my goals…but getting that motivation is sooo hard these days. Sounds like a pretty good idea to have your very own nutritionist helping you along!! If only we were all so lucky! LOL.

Eating raw food will supposedly help lose weight as well. I have stopped drinking alcohol, meaning I am very serious about the whole thing myself.

It does make you feel much better though, doesn’t it? We don’t have Taco bells where I live, but Burger King makes me feel like death. You are what you eat, I suppose! It’s good to get all that rubbish out of your system.
