Jedi Knight in training
I’m feeling much better. On Wednesday, I met a friend named Craig (from work) at the mall and we saw Kung Fu Hustle. It was his birthday, and so celebrate we checked out a movie that we had both been eager to check out. We went to the earliest show at noon, so that there wouldn’t be many people there. Boy, were we right. There was no one there! That’s cool cause it pretty much guarenteed that no one was going to make any noise. The best thing about being at a movie with friends and being the only ones there is that you can talk without bugging anyone. Took us a moment to figure that out during the commercials:
Peter: I hate watching car commercials during the movies. We pay to come here to avoid watching this crap.
Craig: I agree, but I don’t mind when the commercials are funny.
Peter: Neither do I.
Craig: Hey, Peter?
Peter: Yeah?
Craig: We’re the only people here… why are we whispering?
It’s a force of habit I guess. I’m used to only whispering if not talking at all in a theatre. Having the theatre to ourselves was fun and the movie was amazing. It was funny and action packed… review coming soon, promise!
So seeing a movie and playing games at the arcade was a lot of fun, and it was enough to get me out of that horrid mood I was in. The fact that her bosses apoligized for the error and gave her the rest of her pay that day didn’t hurt either. I got back to the house, and finished up a few more things to make the house absolutely spotless so Leah didn’t have to do anything when she got back home. I also picked up a few groceries and had spagetti ready for her and Ethan when they returned as well. So I hoped that made her day when she got back home. It was a good day and I was looking forward to another great one the next day.
Yesterday was my second straight day off, and it was another great day. The weather was kickass perfect, and and while I was tempted to use the day vegging out and reading a book… it was too nice outside to just ship the little one off for daycare. I kept him home and we both went for a walk to the mall to pick a few odds and ends. After I got all those odds and ends done, I let Ethan out of his stroller and let him run around the mall on his own. I always stayed at least a few feet from him and never let the little bugger out of my sight, and man did he move around the mall like a bat out of hell. He want up and down the halls and cause it was 10am they were pretty clear too. The little guy tuckered himself out real well, and I put him back into the stroller for a little rest. When we got back to the house, he napped for three and a half hours. All that walking just burned all the energy he had. It was sweet and I was able to nap myself as a result.
Before we hit the mall, I actually took Ethan to Toys R’ US just to hang out and check out a few things. I talked to some old co-workers cause I used to work the night shift there a while back. Ethan loved running around that store, and even tried to pick up a few things. The only toy I let him leave the store with was a toy Lightsaber. It was one of those toys I always wanted to have, but never got. Ethan seemed to really like it so I bought it for him. Below are a few pictures of Ethan with his really cool lightsaber…

Real cute, eh?
Speaking of Star Wars, I’ve picked up my ticket for Episode III. I’ll be attending the first showing, which is on the 19th starting at midnight. Should be fun… and I will be posting a review that same day.

Awww!! Those pictures are adorable!! I haven’t bought my ticket for Star Wars yet. In a way, I’m not ready for it yet because once I’ve seen it, it’s all over…does that make any sense?
