Win or Lose

Please don’t misinterpret my use of the term “we” in any post. When I write “we” or “us,” I mean it as we “the collective human race” or us “the created ones”. Thus, I’m referring to all people of all colors, genders, races, faiths (or lack thereof), worldviews, practices, walks of life, etc. Basically whoever might actually view the post — friends and foes, like and unlike, everyone and no one.

Some will resonate with what I’m talking about depending on the subject matter in the post and whatever timeframe it applies to. Others won’t, and that’s okay. It depends, but please don’t attribute anything to me if I haven’t written that I’ve personally done it.

Example: “We can project” does not mean “I have personally projected”. It might just mean that I’ve been formerly projected upon but do not want to distort the message by pointing fingers or condemning any person or group.

If something resonates, take it and mull over it. Marinate on it and think about it for sure. But don’t place anything on my fingertips that didn’t come off of them, as I will no longer take ownership of or agree with anything that isn’t mine.

Today’s post is something I started writing before I fell asleep last night. Again, please try to receive and digest the message in its true form.

Life is not about “winning” or “losing.” It’s about discovering, learning, and growing. You learn something from every experience you have, whether it produces catastrophic losses or major gains. It’s up to you to pass the test.

The people whose paths you cross in your lifetime can’t be categorized into mere “good guys” and “bad guys” because they are all teachers and message bearers first. Every person you meet has something to show or tell you about yourself, people, the world, the meaning of life, etc. It’s up to you to harness the wisdom and use it for betterment.

Not everyone who comes into your life is meant to stay there. Some are there only to serve a particular purpose, teach a certain lesson, or reveal a specific truth. The book chapter or room door may close once the purpose has been served.

If you view life only as a chess or checkers game, you miss the whole point of living it. If conquering/defeating a royal piece is your only objective, what happens once you “succeed”? It’s Game Over because the “triumph” high will wear off quickly and regress to a lack of authentic fulfillment.

Worse yet, what happens if you don’t “succeed”? It’s Game Over because you’ll feel like 10 times the “loser” due to your “win” or “lose” mentality. And the next time you don’t “succeed”, it’ll be times 100.

Nobody wins or loses here. Nobody’s good according to God, but everyone has room to grow. The main objective of the Almighty Manufacturer’s “Game of Life” is for us to BECOME royalty. Not by knocking over a king or queen, stealing another’s destiny, or shooting a messenger, but by navigating His board appropriately and sliding into the spot He has already provided.
