let go in small doses

currently:

reading: various stardew valley wikis because i’m a cheater
listening: owl recap podcast, so i can laugh at their very incorrect predictions
watching: fusion playoff videos i missed since i was THERE
obsession: stardew valley/sitting on my patio

things i actually did forget in my last entry: the COO at work found out through a twisted grapevine that i was going to be looking for another job and he was not happy. he called me and erika into his office and literally started the conversation with: “i don’t want you to find another job. how’s that for straightforward?” we talked around a lot of stuff and i ended up telling him that i was unhappy and bored and stressed for no reason, and not paid enough to deal with that. so he was like, bring me a number that will make dealing with all that worth it and i’ll see what i can do. so i ended up giving him like, $42,000 as my number, since that’s what AT was making when he left, and they came back and said, “we can make $40,000 work with the company budget.” so i talked with andrew and with my parents and even though andrew was all for me bouncing tf out immediately, my parents pointed out that this is a good opportunity for me to save money, like savings account save money, and comparable jobs start mid $30,000s in this area so if i had no clear direction of where i am going if i leave, might as well stay. this sounded sensible, so i took the raise and i’m here until may or so next year minimum. yay for raises i guess! haha

we had the gang over for pathfinder last night- a recap session since it’s been six months since we’ve played. i had to bite back a few rude questions to anna over the course of the night and andrew actually asked a rude question (“so has the fish tank replaced plants as your main thing?”) but we had a good time following everyone’s nonsequiturs and derailing the recap as much as possible to andrew’s general frustration and amusement. anna was a little surprised at how well the kitchen was organized, but we were like, yeah well, we got to do it the way we wanted without your input soooooo… except we definitely did not say that hahah. tony brought a red wine + mead mixture and really nice rye whiskey and once anna and tony got a little liquored up they both got pizza cs delievered and both ate their whole pizzas and it was very funny. we moved to the living room after the recap was finally over and andrew played overwatch while we gave everyone a play by play of our sudden new york trip. around 10 they were like wowee time to go home! (anna took her microwave!! hooray!!) so andrew did some brief cleanup and i went to the porch, lit the lantern, and drank what was left of my whiskey while it rained. andrew joined me and we scrolled tumblr and twitter and showed each other dumb things and made plans for the rest of the week.

hopefully by the end of the weekend we will have all the clothes in their proper places, most of the wall art up, a clean bathtub, and most of the remaining boxes empty and recycled. that is, if andrew doesn’t get entirely sidetracked by overwatch and i don’t get suckered into playing six straight hours of stardew valley again. oh well. hahahha

“and then i was like, ‘an acid arrow isn’t a hard limit for you?’ and then we all died laughing again,” “and i have -1 charisma for some reason!” “you collect your enemies’ heads on your belt and smell like rotting flesh!” “so?,” “please tell me how hard it is for you, as a boy, to buy shorts. please tell me how difficult that is for you” “well sometimes i go to buy cargo shorts and i’m like, i need MORE pockets!!” <333
