Apathy Rules!
Hi folks…………just letting you know I’m still in the land of the living.
You’ll see from the title the problem these days. Still working like crazy, and even my days off seem hectic again. Had yesterday as a days leave, ended up driving over 200 miles. Lee’s appointment with the consultant went well. X-Rays don’t show a great deal of difference but he’s not too worried. Lee’s been walking around without the main supporting rail for a few hours each day since the last appointment, but has to put it back on because of the pain just above his knee, so the consultant got his drill chuck and T-bar out and took out one of the pins around his knee. This was a bit of a surprise for Lee and hurt him a little bit but not overly much. Today he has been fine and says the pain he was experiencing has disappeared so that’s a real bonus.
Today I HAD to take a trip into town because Lee needed some X-Box games taken back to the Video shop. Tomorrow Lee has asked me to take him into town to go to the cinema with his mate and wants to be in town early to do some shopping before hand so that’s THAT day gone, and then Saturday I’m back at work.
Just recently I’ve done stints of 7 shifts , 2 days off, 8 shifts, 2 days off, 7 shifts, 2 days off and another 8 shifts again. My last leave was at the end of April, when Dawn went to Spain. The earliest I have been able to book for next one is end of September! I’m knackered, worn out, I badly need a break but have a long time to wait. I feel like I’m getting burnt out and I’m getting a little worried. Work is getting worse with the “Swine Flu Pandemic!” We’re treating all those with the symptoms and “possible” connection. I am sure most have just got a normal virus. It’ s really pathetic. On the telephones the other night there was 20 calls waiting (totally out of character) and 16 of them were advice about Swine Flu.
Sorry if this entry looks like a bit of a pity party, but to be honest you’re lucky you got an entry at all!! I’ll try to keep updating a bit more regular, but I ain’t promising!
Oh nearly forgot, a nice little diversion last night. Went to see teh new Harry Potter film. Pretty good, nice bit of escapism for a while. I don’t think it was the best, and it did change from the book a fair bit, but still good.

The fact that Lee is still suffering while the dorkbag that hit him is running around free just irritates the living hell out of me. With blessings for Lee…

they were raving about that new HP film on our news last night. Glad you are still around, albeit busy and tired and worn out. I have had 5 weeks of stress and craziness too and it does take its toll. Finally coming right (I hope)….and, like you, need some escapism. I suggest you get on that Harley and let the wind hit your face. hugs P hug
