Conspiracy Theorists

One hears the pejorative term “Conspiracy Theorist” often these days. Trace back the origins of this term in the “popular press’. It is my belief that you can find no reference to the term prior to 1964.
Where did the term “Conspiracy Theorist” come from? Today, the term is used to dismiss the beliefs of anyone whose statements go against the grain of the “Current Narrative”. By “Current Narrative”, I am referring to the constant drumbeat echoed from all corners of the Mainstream Media (for which read CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC and (yes) FOXNEWS and the DRUDGE REPORT).
Any alternative explanation of events, that runs counter to the “Current Narrative” is labelled as the work of “Conspiracy Theorists”.
So, it is worthwhile to trace back the origins of this phrase.
On November 22, 1963, the President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, was murdered in Dallas, Texas, as his motorcade drove past Dealey Plaza and the School Book Depository.
A “suspect” was immediately identified, was subsequently caught and, while in police custody was murdered by an individual, who had gained easy access to the place where the accused was being detained.
A commission was assembled to “determine the facts” as to what had happened. That commission was to be headed by the “esteemed” Chief Justice of the Supreme Court who had risen to that high office from being the former governor of California and a thoroughly crooked politician. The popular press portrayed him as being the best of the best.
So, with great appearance of sobriety, The Warren Commission Report was foisted on the American people as being “the final word” on the subject of the Assassination of John F. Kennedy”. Unfortunately, it was complete non-sense.

At that point, the CIA is said to have invented a dis-information device. Anyone, who spoke out about the obvious errors in judgement of the Warren Commission would be termed to be “Conspiracy Theorists”. It worked!!

For half a century, those who objected to the “conclusioins of the Warren Report” as being complete nonsense, were dismissed as being “Conspiracy Theorist”.

How many of you are left who believe that President John F. Kennedy was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald, using an 6.5×52mm Mannlicher–Carcano rifle, and that he was the lone gunman? If you think that that is unlikely, then you are a “Conspiracy Theorist”.

Is being a conspiracy theorist a bad thing?
