56 days and counting

Till we leave for Disney I mean, and it’s going slow.

Lately I’ve been just thinking about the hotel portion of the trip.  You know what I mean, the fluffy towels that are folded up, the room is nice and clean and you didn’t even have to vaccum.  Not to mention at Disney World we’re getting a suite which has a seperate bedroom for Vivien. So time alone.  With my husband.  Where one of us doesn’t have to go to work the next morning.  So ready.  Between the drive there and the extra day at Disney we’re staying in 3 hotels.  The first one is a little more than halfway to Orlando but it looks like this there so I’m all for it.

I *think* that building is the hotel. Either way this is the beach there.  We’d like to get there around dinner, have something quick and then maybe take a walk on the beach.  In the morning we’re going to check out the beach for sea shells (Since it’s private there’s a good chance we’ll find good stuff) and that lighthouse there as there’s a bit of a museum there.  There’s also an old fort on site too.  If it’s nice I’m thinking about booking it on the spot for a week long trip in the summer.  But we’ll see.   Hopefully we’ll leave in enough time to make it to the second hotel of our trip, Shades of Green.  Which is actually on Walt Disney World property but owned and maintained by the department of defense.  It’s cheap. It used to be a deluxe resort so it’s supposed to be fairly nice.  I’ve heard mixed things though.  It’s within walking distance to the monorail so I’m fairly excited about that piece.  And also to the Polynesian Resort.  Which is where we’ll be having lunch.  We’ve also got a room with pool access-basically a sliding glass door that opens to the pool area.  It cost $15 more.  Our plan is to have a quick lunch, then take a nap (if Vivien didn’t spend the morning sleeping in the car) and spend the late afternoon by the pool if it’s warm enough out.   We’ll head to Downtown Disney for dinner and to activate our park tickets (you have to do this with the military pricing we’re using, which is more than a 50% discount so we’re using them).

The next morning though….we’ll swing by the Art of Animation resort, check in, get our dining plan stuff and then head to the Magic Kingdom.  Because they are filming the Christmas Day parades that day and I managed to get the holy grail of Disney World reservations, dinner at Be Our Guest.

We’ve got character meals, and other thigns that are planned in a way we’ll be able to see some of the resorts-the Grand Floridian and the Beach Club are ones I want to hit the most because they have a giant (like people can fit inside) gingerbread house and a carosel that’s covered in gingerbread. I’m so excited.  I love Disney at Christmas and I can’t wait for this vacation.

I stopped back by to figure out exactly when your trip is and it seems like you’ll be there a few days into Dec. We went that week once and the crowds were perfect. Can’t wait to hear all about your adventures!
