Weak

From Blogger on 01/02/06 (I don’t agree with myself on all of this):

You see me as weak, but I ask what is strength? Is strength stepping on the weak? Is strength spending life with something to prove? I’m reminded of high school. There are still cliches, populars and freaks. Some are able to achieve some bit of status, something to be proud of. Nevermind that the first sin was pride. Nevermind that the spiritual war going on, as we speak, is all in the name of pride. We still seek it and carry false strength in the name of it. But, Jesus didn’t sit with the proud, but the humble, the freaks. Because, only those who know weakness can ever hope to know strength. And, true strength can only be found in Him. I know weakness and I’ve spent my life in the pursuit of false strength. Each time lacking, unable to prove myself. I grew to accept nothing but perfection and, seeing my attempts totally lacking, I gave up. If perfection is unattainable, if peace is unattainable, why try? What’s the use? Yet I take up the pursuit again and again, only to give up again and again. True strength requires the realization that no matter how much false strength one has, peace will remain unfound. That without depending wholly on God, we are only men, flawed men. And so the question comes, if I’m far from depending fully on God, how about you?
