Writing entries with iThings

This is important.

Not really but I promise an entry on the important stuff later…ish.

This is a question I see all the time. My iThingy (pod, pad, phone,Mac) does not work on OD.

First of all, it’s OD that doesn’t work with iThingies..

Second of all, yes they do. This not an important entry is brought to you by the thing Pad. But I happen to know pod phone Mac work too.

OD tried to get fancy with a WYSIWYG editor for PC’s. That is built into the Apple universe already so the PC specific commands cause problems for iThingies. The solution is simple. Turn off the OD editor.

so.. diary menu—> diary maintenance—> diary management—> editor settings. I turn off all the wywsig settings, and voila a happy iUniverse.

This is a picture my eldest son took years ago and remains one of my favorites. It’s particularly significant these days. Finding my way through rocky waters.

Yep, I can see why that is one of your favorite pictures. It’s beautiful.

I use my iPad all the time but I write in pages and copy and paste.

xo

A picture fit to be framed. Hoping you find calmer waters.

I will have to try this the next time I have my iPad out. I love the picture, very pretty. I’m assuming that you had no problem posting it with your iPad?

Very cool picture!

(ryn) Why, thank you so kindly! =) I am truly flattered. It was sweet of you to say.

RYN: More like it’s an entry about the phenomena of Asian Middle Eastern countries not being considered Asian by a certain part of the world, yet being considered Asian by this same part of the world to the point of arguing vehemently about it.

RYN: But I’ve been told it’s most, if not all, Americans. No-one has told me it’s not. Plus one is an incorrect definition. It’s exactly the same as saying Texas is a southern state and is in America, but it isn’t American. Makes no sense whatsoever.

RYN: One only knows what they are told and what they find out. There has yet to be anyone to tell me this is not a majority belief. Plus I’m sure you saw me use words like ‘apparently’ and point out that this is only as far as I know and that I’m awaiting correction. Wow, really? A lot of people would consider a Texan to be the archetypal American, at least in ye olden days. Anyway, now you…

…know about Asia, if you didn’t before. No harm in that.

Nobody had mentioned it, but I just changed it yesterday so…

That is a beautiful picture! Are you still here on OD?

RYN: Thank you. It has been difficult since but I’m somehow getting through it, like everything else in my life. “Kind of” meaning friends only?

Also, thanks for this entry – now I’m able to do entries easier without the editor part on.

RYN: no, we don’t know each other. I only know of you from the NoJoMo each November. I’ve participated in it each year, but make all of my entries private every January 1st.

beautiful picture !!! I love the water and sailing. it speaks to me in many forms and teaches me much. “we may not be able to direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails…” ryn: thanks for stopping by.

RYN: Thanks for your note. I definitely have a big mouth, and find it difficult to close it when I have something to say- there’s just no denying that, haha. — That’s a lovely picture your son took. Kind of makes me wish I didn’t get seasick. Take care.
