What a difference a good pillow makes…
Over the last few nights, Jonathan has been very restless to the point where one of us had to get up in the middle of the night and coax him back to sleep, only to have to repeat the process each hour. Since I’m not working right now, I’ve been quick to volunteer to ease the burden on those who are still working or have been doing the hard work for a while. So one night this week, I slept on the couch while Jonathan went back to sleep in his playpen in the living room. I believe he slept better there cause it’s right next to an air condictioner. We have a fan in his room (we gave him the one from our room) but I think he prefers the AC a little more, but he was still a little restless. The answer to our troubles came to us in the morning when both boys were up and playing around. Jonathan grabbed one of my pillows from the couch where I had slept, and then cuddled up with it. Before I knew it, he had passed out…
He actually passed out rather quickly with my pillow but wasn’t down for very long. But when it came time to nap, I took this intel and let him steal my pillow again for his nap. The result, two hours of this:
To make things better, I gave Jonathan my pillow for the night when I put him down to sleep in his crib for bed last night. That was nine hours ago and the little guy is still asleep! So I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m gonna have to hit the mall to get a new pillow, cause that one is now Jonathan’s. We had been letting him use pillows, just none as big and fluffy as ours, but he seems to do well with this one and if it works… go with it. Now if only Ethan would sleep in, things would be perfect!

Peter, it is sad, for lack of a better term, that you have so little faith in the American people, government and military to abide by even that one rule, that requires a president to step down. You think Bush would really try that? Peter, who would back him? You think the common soldier would rise to defend Bush with his rifle? Gimme a break. The idea is nuts; you give Bush too much credit.

That picture of him asleep is so gosh darn adorable! Your kids are cuties though. š I agree with the noter above that the scent could also be soothing to him. That works for dogs :-p Glad you found something to help!

Found on the circles… I firmly believe, particularly with parenting, that if you find something that works, GO WITH IT. š Your little guy is adorable. We’ve just recently started letting our 2 1/2 year old son go to bed with pillows, and now our 15 month old is also showing interest in them. It looks like your little man is just ready for a pillow. Hope you guys get a good nights sleepfrom now on due to it!
