Vehicular bitching.
Monday morning, I waited. And waited. The dealership’s finance guy (really the only person we dealt with, the only one who gave us his name…) said they’d call first thing Monday morning to let me know the status of my car and when we could come sign ass-loads of paperwork and take the car. I had to call them at 11:30 because I got sick of waiting. Then the guy called back… in the middle of nap time. I was quite impressed with Ashley, she didn’t even stir while I talked on the phone right next to her.
Finally at 3 I got another call saying the car would be ready at 4:30. I messaged Nick, then called him, then Lisa (who was visiting on Monday) called him… eventually he called back. I don’t know why but Lisa put the idea in his head that she’d drive me and Ashley over to the dealership and we’d meet him there, so I had to go try and get Ashley’s car seat into Lisa’s tiny little two-door car. I JUST got it through the doorway, but the seatbelt wouldn’t cooperate (and of course there was no LATCH option) so instead I had to tug the seat back out of the tiny-car and call Nick to come get me, which I had assumed was the original plan. That way, no baby at the dealership wanting me while I’m trying to sign paperwork and pay attention.
Nick got here at 4:25. I hate being late, so I was getting grumpy and snippy and stress-tummy. We got to the dealership at 5 on the dot. Signed a bunch of paperwork (nowhere near as much as Nick had led me to believe it would be) and then I had my car! Yay! When we walked out of the finance office, I looked around and no one acknowledged me in any way, so I figured that meant my key was in my car. So we walked out and they chased after us with the key. Just one (that’s a little annoying). Then I had to back out a long way to get to the road, as there was no turning-around space – they were bringing in all the cars because it was end of the day. I am TERRIBLE at backing up. At home I scraaaaaaaaped the side of the car on the driveway gate. I drove into the GIANT ditch alongside Jenn’s driveway. I have bad luck backing up. Thankfully this time I only mounted the curb a bit. But still, wouldn’t it have been nice of them to turn it around for me or something?
Took more than 45 minutes to get home. Stupid traffic. I was tired and had no my-music to listen to, and the radio was giving me a headache… oh! When I first got in the windows were down. And then every time I braked I heard a noise that was sort of… plastic rustling, or maybe a snake hissing type noise. Turned out it was a dragonfly semi-trapped by the windshield. Poor thing. He kept escaping my reach so I had a travel buddy for a little while.
Today, Tuesday, I finally was rid of the stress-tummy that had been plaguing me for the past week (since I organised with Nick to go look at the car). And then I realised… I have no idea how to make the car payments. Do they send me a bill every month or what? And if they did, would it come to me, or to Nick (I had to be listed as the co-signer due to no credit)? And if it came to me, would it come to the street address or the mailing address? Nothing ever asked me my mailing address so… looked at all the paperwork I signed. Shouldn’t have let Carlos rush me so much. My address is spelled wrong on the one piece of paper that it is on. The street address. It is also only half of it. So yay, stress-tummy has returned. I called the dealership and left a message asking if they could answer this one question that slipped my mind the previous day. Googling tells me I should have received some sort of payment slips or something but of course I have nothing. So yeah, stress-tummy. Mostly over the fact that I now have to wait for a phone call tomorrow morning. And that I’ll probably have to drive back to fucking Seymour again.
I really hope Jake gets a decent lunch break in the next day or so, so I have a chance to put the car seat in my new car. It’ll involve reading the manual for that thing again. Woo.
I am excited to have this lovely, much safer machine. Just overwhelmed with all the crap involved with getting it. The great thing is, Nick is working on getting my old car sold, I sent him pictures today. Such an awesome brother in law.
I want to go to sleep but I have a very stiff neck that only hurts when I lay down…
Awwww, feel better! I get the same way. 🙁

Nothing ever happens easily hey? Especially with car dealerships, they sound a bit slack. But yay for the new car xx

I’m useless at backing up too. Silly direction. Yay for new cars!

We didn’t get payment slips for our car. They sent a bill every month and we paid online. Now we have automatic payment set up and it just withdraws the money right from our bank account on the day we picked.

You wrote this ages ago. I hope all this is sorted now. *giant hugs*
