Update from the Weekend.
It’s been a few days since I wrote. I’ve been so busy. And also, the migraines were brutal last week. I hope I get some relief this week because I really want to do things on Tuesday and possibly enjoy my Thursday library day.
Yesterday was Father’s Day, and it was really good one. My stepfather (I just call him Dad, but that’s a long story, so I’m not gonna go into it) and I went to see The Incredible 2 with Mom. Good movie. It woke up all Violet Parr muse. Heh.
After the movie we went over to my neighbor’s house. He was having a Father’s Day cookout with his stepson and his family. I had my young friend, Brian, play some of Octo Canyon in Splatoon 2. He got through most of it for me. I was never very good with the mechanics of this game. But love it anyway.
Other news? Still waiting to hear about my blood glucose meter. This has been going on for almost a week. In fact, it will be exactly a week on Tuesday. So annoyed that it’s taking so long. First they tell me that my insurance needs more information as to why I need this meter. Then they tell me they’ve sent a form over to my doctor asking if they will let the pharmacy fill a generic store brand meter/kit. Seriously? What is the big deal? Just sign the form and send it back so I can get my meter and strips! What if I really did need them? I already know I have Diabetes. That was confirmed pretty much yesterday. (I had treated myself to some Reeese’s Pieces at the movie, and about halfway through the movie I had a terrible cotton mouth. Needless to say I didn’t have anything else sweet last night.)
But yeah, still waiting to hear. Mom is supposed to call again tomorrow if I don’t hear anything from either CVS or my doctor’s office by the end of today. Ugh. I hate dealing with professionals. You expect certain things to be done right, and then you’re left disappointed when they aren’t. Where is the sense of responsibility?
This week’s only plans are for Humana Office bingo and Coloring Club at the library. I may be seeing Jurrasic World: The Fallen Kingdom sometime this weekend. I’ve been waiting impatiently for that movie. I hope I see it with my friend J.
If you absolutely need a meter, you can buy them for pretty cheap at Walmart. I found one once that I needed in an emergency that had strips, the meter itself, and a lancet device for about $20.
@andthen_1 We did find out my insurance will cover the CVS brand meter/kit. But now it’s been a waiting game. And it’s been a week.
@zie It’s really frustrating waiting for insurance. My son gets several medical devices that we already have approval from insurance and have been getting them for several months. Then, this last month when they put in the order for it, insurance decided they needed to reapprove it, so even though he was out of his stuff, we had to wait for insurance to approve something we already had been getting for months. It’s exhausting.
