Oh it gets better! Yay.
Now by the time the velcro was untangled and I found the keyboard that matches the mouse so that I only had to use one usb port for the mouse/keyboard and the other for the drive, I transferred my work files and the computer screen went black. WHY??? Because of an automatic windows update that will not let me postpone it any longer!
So, once back, I”ve lost all recollection of what I came in the office for, although I’m fairly certain it wasn’t to unravel the history of velcro and match up mice to keyboards! UGH.
Whilst waiting for the Microsoft Windows to torture me with its long update, I put some papers away that were piled on my desk. I just feel like my little office is my own cozy little corner of the world. My desk is now cleared and I feel some sense of calm, but alas, now my coffee is gone so I must venture outside of my little sanctuary to get more coffee.
Also, I’ve realized why this keyboard was packed away in the closet. It is about 20 years old and the keys stick and it slows me down. Also the mouse is lighter than the previous mouse I had in here. While I’m on a tangent about keyboards, my favorite one is a pink one, but the matching mouse is somehow faulty and skips sometimes. It’s not the battery. It’s likely the fact that it met the floor one too many times.
Ok, I’ve switched keyboards and I’m happy again. It doesn’t take much to please me, honestly. A comfortable chair, a working keyboard and mouse, and finding my things where and how I’ve left them. I don’t think I’m cut out to be a coworker maybe.
Okay, I’m mostly back to normal so all posts from here on out should be rant-free. As long as I remain isolated in my office for the rest of the day lol.
It’s funny how you mention having to find the right keyboard. I’m the same way. The ideal keyboard has to feel just right and have that certain satisfying click to the keys, that perfect feel as your fingers effortlessly glide from one key to the next, like this sort of ballet that can only be performed when the keyboard and fingers are in sync and in perfect harmony.
@peripheral_visionary OMG! That is EXACTLY it! Perfectly said! I’m still on the quest for the perfect keyboard. It also has to be the right length. I need the number pad because I hate using the top row numbers but the keyboard can’t be too long or it annoys me on my keyboard tray on my desk. (I may have ADHD).
