Blue Blue Dress – Ch. 7 Sec. 7

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted any story. I feel bad, cuz I probably won’t get to finish this series by the time NaNoWriMo comes around. Oh well… I might do somethin gelse. Orrrrr… I might not do it this year cuz my life will be so crazy. Who knows….

The screwdriver fell to the floor with a muffled thud.

It could still be a test. Her mother knew everything. What if she was just waiting for Alexis to move so she could swing open the door and snatch her by the hair? She looked at the area underneath her bedroom door. No tell tale shadows lurked and the house had been quiet since her mother had disappeared from the table. But her mother had ears like a hawk and it wouldn’t surprise her if she was listening to make sure that Alexis was sleeping.

Despite the worry that was bubbling up in side of her stomach, Alexis found herself quickly moving towards the window. She shoved the thin white curtains to the side and peered down at Jordan’s upraised face. A smile beamed in the darkness and he gestured for her to come out. Alexis mouthed the words “I can’t” but he shook his head yes and gestured again. He took a few steps back and pointed towards the forest. After holding up his hand and mouthing “in five minutes” he backed up into the trees until he disappeared.

Alexis was petrified. She let the curtain fall back into place and instantly wanted to hide under her bed. The door had stayed close and there were still no shadows, but she KNEW her mother was listening. She knew that it was only a matter of time before she came to check on her daughter.

Her mind was racing. She wanted to go, but new that it was almost guaranteed disaster if she did. She wanted any reason to go outside, but nothing came to her mind. Then it clicked, she hadn’t had a shower yet! She might just be able to get away with turning on the water and sneaking out for just a few minutes. She needed to know how in the world Jordan had gotten to her house and why. She didn’t bother trying to think of all the consequences of getting caught. She grabbed her slippers and quickly made her way to the bathroom. The hallway was silent, no light coming from her mother’s room. Her mother could have been sleeping. She did take sleeping pills now and then… but there was no way to tell, no way to really know.

After turning on the water and making sure the door was locked, Alexis quickly made her way out of the bathroom window. She always found it odd that their bathroom had such a large one, but it was a house from her father’s design, so she always figured he had a reason. The house had large windows everywhere. It was probably because he loved the light and feeling like he was outdoors anywhere in the house.

The fleeting thought of her father made her falter as she slid outside of the window. She didn’t think about him much, she could barely remember him. She had looked at the pictures of him and tried hard to keep the emotions stuffed down inside of her. She had learned early to not ask questions about him. It was a mistake she didn’t dare repeat after the first few punishments.

Her feet hit the ground with a crunch. It sounded insanely loud and she was glad the bathroom window was on the opposite side of the house as her mother’s room. She slipped on her shoes and glanced around. She had no idea where Jordan was and how she was supposed to find him. And she didn’t have long. Her mother wouldn’t sleep forever, and the shower water going on for an unusual amount of time would definitely make her suspicious.

“Psssst.”

She glanced to her right and saw him standing against a tree. She found herself almost floating over to him. It suddenly didn’t matter why he had come or how he had gotten there. It was as if he was supposed to be there. He was wearing his hood shadowing his face, but his eyes seemed to glow without any light. Alexis wasn’t sure how to greet him. She wanted to throw her arms around him and bury her face in his chest… but as she got closer the tendrils of confusion began to work their way around her thoughts.

“What are you doing here? Are you crazy?!” Alexis’s whisper was almost swallowed up by the stillness. Nature holding its breath.

“I had to see you, I needed to know you were ok…” His hand reached out and his fingertips grabbed the edge of her shirt. He tugged at it until she moved closer and his arms enveloped her. He smelled the same…. The cologne wrapped itself firmly around her head and made her take a deep breath. She hesitantly loosened her arms from their cross position on her chest and slid them around his body. He was warm and his body was firm and she found herself pressing into him without thinking.

The strange bond was apparent once more. They didn’t talk or move or do anything but press into the other… and it was all they needed to do. Alexis didn’t want it to end. It was like a shelter she had been searching for but had been unable to find for so long.

“I have to go….” She pulled back after what seemed like forever, but was really just a few minutes. “I have to go…” She took a few steps away and stared up at him. He didn’t speak, his fingers just reached out to her once more.

“I can’t stay… I can’t… My mother… she….” Alexis spoke as she backed up. She couldn’t bear to turn away, he was right there and she could go back to him at any moment and feel that warm safe glow around her once again. But the time was not stopping for them, no matter how much she wished it. And the fear, while diminished, was very alive and she couldn’t help but retreat to save what little peace she still had.

“I’ll find you…” he whispered as she reached the window and pressed her back into the wall of the house. With a wave he stepped back into the forest.
She watched him till he disappeared.

She jumped into the window and wet her hair under the shower tap. When she turned the water off she waited to hear her mothers footsteps retreating from the door. There were none and so it was safe to go to her room without question.

And as she lay in her bed, there was no way for her to not think. To not remember his face. His scent. His touch. His kisses. His understanding. His gaze. His presence. And it lulled her to a sleep that was sweeter than she had experienced before. A sleep full of dreams she didn’t remember, but a renewal she couldn’t deny.

Yeah, I thought you’d like that ‘cummings’ bit being that you have orgasms as one of your hobbies.

Awww, you’re making up words just for me! I feel so special!….. Anyway, I wrote a new entry and it should put you up to date on what’s been going on with me while I haven’t been writing; I will admit, though; I have been in a funk lately — eh, just random guy stuff (you know what I mean).
