THIS AND THAT – ok

We are at the trailer. I slept pretty good. Only arrived about ten at night but hubby came in the afternoon.

Going to make supper tonight for friends. Any hints for cooking vegies on the barbecue? Marinade recipe?

 

Yesterday was a pretty lazy day. I went on the treadmill in the morning. I am pushing myself now. I never did before. I try to go up to THREE miles an hour. Before I use to stay about 2.5 and thought it was good enough. No more!

 

Then I packed, went online, had a nap and about three left to pick up my grandson. He was very quiet. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s sick today. I took him to the ceramic place. Our stuff was ready. They came out pretty good. He painted another piece but without any enthusiasm. Not sure if he was just bored, tired or coming down with something. I took him home for supper and then he had soccer. He ran around the field but without any purpose and seemed to be pretty much out of it! My son was disappointed and tried to encourage him to no avail.

My son talked a little about his life. He is finding it so hard. He just can’t accept that he has to start at the bottom and work his way up. He had two jobs which he probably should have stayed with. He is now trying to start his own business with another man. I hope it works out for him. He was trying to encourage me to join  WW. I don’t know why I get my back up when people tell me to lose weight. I know I could and should. Maybe it will come one day. I am exercising……………..

So today I have to get my car washed. Then I will buy some groceries and come home. I hope to paint this afternoon. Will have to check how the bugs are………………..

 

I don’t know why the old entries that I am editing are showing up in recent entries but they are. Just wanted to let you know. I am determined to reread all entries very soon. Then I am going to write my name and password and have hubby put them in the safe.

 

Time for a shower and breakfast.

rereading old entries is a very cool thing. I have another blog that I write for/with my husband (he has one for me to) it’s one way we keep in touch when he is on location. For christmas I downloaded them and printed them out collated and reread everything and it was amazing. I do pastel landscapes at the moment but they border on the abstract. I like to work either very small or very big 4×8′

I did some great vegetables the other week — I tossed vegetables (onion, zucchini, eggplant, red bell pepper, tomatoes) in oil, balsamic, salt and pepper. When the veggies came off the grill, I tossed them in a little feta cheese and either walnuts or almonds. Very good and very easy.

Good for you for all that exercise, and you are really going at a good clip at 3mph too!

All I can say is that veggies on the barbeque are wonderful even without a marinade — just make sure you cut the pieces big enough so they don’t slip through. Brushing the veggies beforehand with a little oil and balsamic vinegar, or some lemon and garlic, makes them wildly delicious.

This seems to be a day for weight issues. Anyway, I think 3 mph is great on the treadmill! And, as far as veggies go, I just put spray butter on them then wrap in foil and cook — their natural flavor is SO GOOD!

I hope your grandson is not coming down with a bug. Sometimes I toss my veggies in olive oil with grated ginger root, grated garlic, pepper, basil, & paprika.

I think your son is just concerned for your welfare, being overweight is unhealthy especially if you have diabetes. I know I am overweight and need to do something. Pushing yourself on the treadmill is a good idea. I need to push myself more too.

if you are editing old entries they will show up as new entries….thats just the way it seems to work. Try not to worry too much about your son…. seems he likes to learn things for himself. How is your mum now? hugs P

3 miles per hour is outstanding! Yeah, having someone else telling you to lose weight will get your hackles up. We like to think it’s our own idea to lose weight. Me, too!
