My Jakey Boy

My sweet tabby boy Jakey is 18 and slowly disappearing in front of me. He keeps losing weight and I’ve spent thousands on x-rays, blood tests, and ultra sounds only to find nothing. He was diagnosed with hypoglycemia a while ago and the medication was supposed to stop the weight loss, but it hasn’t helped.

Even though he’s old he’s still my baby and it’s difficult not knowing what’s wrong and not being able to help. This past week he had a pancreatic flare up and barely eats or drinks. I’ve been hydrating him by hooking him up to IV fluids and giving him pain meds. I’m trying to prepare myself because I don’t think I’ll have him for much longer and it’s hitting me hard.
