No – not trying to convert people at all. I didn’t even bring the subject up, but when people say ill-informed things, I’m not going to nod and agree with them. I’m not a sycophant of the Labor party, I’ve weighed up every single policy. Like Health for instance, which you mentioned. Health in Aust. is in dire straits – not because we’re not rich enough, but because the Federal govt does not

work effectively with the State governments, with bureaucratic idiocy tending to be the norm. Do you know that there is a ratio of 4 admin/non-medical staff for every health professional such as Doctors or nurses? This is the same ratio as troops to backline staff in the Vietnam war, where we were fighting a dogged enemy on foreign soil in inhospitable conditions!

The Labor policy is to immediately bring nurses back to the workforce, not bureaucrats, and if the situation does not improve, the States will be required to hand over power of the Hospitals in 2009. This will cut bureaucracy almost in half and free up spending on vital services. The Liberal policy is to instil a hospital board in every public hospital in the country. This is yet another

layer of bureaucracy, and it has been shunned by everyone except the Doctors – who love the idea of more power. It is a stupid and unworkable solution that will worsen problems. Anyway – what I’m getting at is that I do think everything through, and I wish everyone would do the same, unlike the chick who did her nut because I had the temerity to disagree with her factually incorrect slogans.
