One Direction/5SOS concert & life ramblings

I went to the One Direction concert on Sunday night.  I’d prepared for it by going out and buying earplugs earlier in the day.  I caught the train there, and I was getting message/tips via text from my friend Theresa who had attended the concert the night before.

It was an okay concert I guess.  I certainly can’t say it was amazing.  The five boys pretty much spent the whole time mucking around in between their tracks, for WAY too long, like 10 minutes at a time.  There was like an elevated stage that they stood on and it carried them over the front of the crowd.  I can’t believe my friend paid $300 for those tickets.  I was waaaay up the back in like row X lol, but I had a perfect view of the whole stadium.

I was more excited about the support band, who are 5SOS, as they are from Adelaide and put on quite a good gig.  They all sang, three of them played electric guitar and the 4th played the drums.  They had energy and were just really good.

All I can say for One Direction is that they can sing.  They don’t dance whatsoever.  Nor do they play instruments, that I’m aware of.  They didn’t during that concert anyway.  They would just walk and talk and sing and move around a bit more.  At least they pronounced ‘Brisbane’ correctly, which is more than I can say for other artists I’ve seen perform live here.
It’s pronounced "Briz-ban" not "Brizbaine" lol.
The stadium was packed though.  Sold out, although the seat next to me remained free.  I was next to two girls, naturally.  You didn’t really have a choice.  The whole stadium was ear-pitched-screaming teenage girls.  Many of them were wearing very-VERY short shorts, which is nothing unusual for Queensland girls I suppose.
And here I was, a 29 year old gay guy, who spent the entire concert SEATED whilst every girl around me barely sat down even once lol.
I just didn’t really care for them.  But I had to see em ya know – everyone has to see a worldwide phenomenon at least once in their life, and I had a cheap ticket so meh, why not.  I would have actually been happy walking out and going home after the support act lol.  The most entertaining of the One Direction boys was Niall (the blonde Irish one) as he seemed to have more energy than anyone else and did a few skips across the stage and hip-twirling, which just made the girls scream louder.
I must have seemed like such an old man, adjusting my earplugs to delve deeper into my ears every time a song ended or they walked out on stage again haha.
I’d even wore a somewhat costume!  I went there wearing my blue beanie! LOL!  They hid the earplugs well, but it was obvious i was wearing them with how often I kept adjusting them.  Even with the earplugs in, I walked out of there with my ears ringing a little haha.  It was just crazy.  Of course, had I gone with a friend, I would have probably had a lot more fun and not been as cynical that the boys were going to suck lol, which they didn’t, but they could at least put in a little bit of choreography, I mean geez.

I’ve actually been trying to write for a while, but each time the site has timed out etc, so I’ve just been like ‘meh’.  Those of you who read my previous favs only entry – I really have no idea what that boy is going to do with the video haha, but I’m pretty sure my face isn’t in it 😛  I’ll be sure to let you know if I ever do find out, and I’ll probably hear from him next time he’s in Bris.

My landlord has been home for a week now, and things aren’t too bad.  I mean, I’ve always got to adjust when he’s around, and my housemate takes the pressure off a lot, since both him and my landlord never shut the fuck up.  It’s like living with a couple – always argusing about some trivial shit, but mostly they are pretty fun.  Ayden flirts a lot with my landlord, but we know he’d never go there.  Just last night he was asking him to feel up his muscles since he’s gone to the gym maybe once in the last two weeks, thinking it’s made a massive difference lol.  Then later on Ayden was in MY room, laying on top of me laying down on my bed, in nothing but his dressing gown, with NOTHING underneath it!  I felt up his arse and it was obvious he had no underwear on.  He goes, "I’m not hard" and I’m like, "Well obviously!" and he got off me, wished me goodnight and went to bed.
He’s completely about the power-trip that boy.  Believes he can have anyone he wants.  My landlord reckons Ayden is going on a date tonight with some 42 year old guy LOL.
Who knows what the deal is with that.  Ayden is only 20!

I’m on a few days off, and it’s nice.  Work hasn’t called me in, yet, so that’s even nicer lol.  I’d go if they did.  I’m going shopping soon with Andrew since he can’t see anything without his contacts lol.  God.  I kinda wanna head off to Chermside though to see Dannii Minogue and her X-Factor contestant.  I messaged Cam about it because he’s obsessed with her, and he thanked me for telling him.  I dunno if I’ll go.  Chris Lilley’s new series starts tonight so I don’t wanna miss that either, but it’s not on til 9pm.

Maybe it’s good I don’t write all the time.  Half the shit I go on about is completely boring as batshit lol.

Gym’s not going too badly.  I’m still enjoying it.  I’m now combining all my workouts into the one session (legs, chest, back, arms and core) so I don’t have to go as often, but I have to spent longer obviously in the gym to get it all done.  I still prefer to go when it’s less busy, as I have less distractions – mainly being hot guys lol.  I check in on Foursquare only on my phone, so it keeps track of how often I’m going etc.  It’s way down on previous days because of how less I’m going.  I’m also lifting/pushing heavier weights.  Right now I’m doing 150kg leg presses (I used to do 200 so I’m way off my mark there from a few years ago), 90kg dips, 90kg lat pulldowns and I managed to do 80kg bench press.  THAT one is annoying me because it doesn’t make sense WHY I’m able to do 90kg on both triceps and back but 10kg less on a benchpress.  And that’s the Smith Machine too because I’m usually alone so I prefer the safety mechanisms of the machine.  My workmate reckons it’s completely psychological and now that I’ve gotten above 75kg (what I’ve done in the past), that I’ll be able to lift the 90kg in no time at all.  Hmmm, I dunno.  I think I’m a fair bit off it yet, and if I was going to attempt it, I’d definitely need a spotter behind me, and that guy can NOT be cute.

So life’s plotting along.  Of course I’m still trying to decide what I want to actually do with regards to all this free time I have during the day.  I kind of don’t want to give it away lol, but obviously I need to be sensible if I’m ever going to get somewhere in life, because right now I’m getting by fine and I like that.  I guess I hate sacrificing time for money, but who doesn’t?

Oh I had my friend Moe’s birthday party on Saturday night too.  I found this really cute stuffed-seahorse with cute googly eyes in a specialty store and the old lady even wrapped it up for me.  It was the best customer service I’ve witnessed in a long time.  Moe liked it haha.  My friend Pete brought along macaroons that had the word "Moe’ printed on every single one.  Moe gave every one of them and they were delish!  Way to outdo my gift Pete! 😛

Anyway, enough rambling from me.  Time to see if this entry saves or not lol.

Being a british teenage girl, I have seen them twice, naturally. Once when they had just done the x factor and once in March. I went to say I’d been. They were quite good. xx

I’ve never actually heard any of One Direction’s songs. The closest I’ve come is listening to the parodies made on youtube by Bart Baker.

90s boy bands were better. And I totally thought they sucked back then.
