Physical Therapy Today

Last time I went to physical therapy, ummm, Monday, it was 20 of each exercise in the water. Today she upped it to 30 of each exercise . I am also wearing floaty things around my ankles that make my legs and feet want to float upwards and I have to use considerable effort to keep them down. I exercises non-stop for 55 minutes and, as I told Nancy at the end, although there was no pain, the abductor muscle and the butt muscle on the left were feeling very tired by then. Of course, I am pleased to have an abductor muscle to get tired on that side. Now there is no doubt that it is coming back!

I am absolutely exhausted. I have been fighting taking a nap all afternoon. It is 5:30 now and too near bedtime to take one but it will require a huge effort on my part to stay up until 10 pm!

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." –Viktor Frankl

I know with hip replacement people that I have coffee with there is a huge difference in recovery rates. However they do recover, especially when they work as hard as you have. And I bet this will last you the next 30 years, looking forward to learning from you during that time. Be well; have fun…dan

odd…with floaties on your feet, I would think it would be harder to adduct than abduct. Now that makes me want to put a floatie on my leg and get in the pool. LOL!

You’re working so hard…. it’s good to hear you making progress. Thanks for telling me about Autobiography in Five Short Chapters — something so simple but so revealing. I’m going to learn a little bit more about the author.

I would never have thought of that to exercise that muscle! I’m glad it’s working for you.

Wearing floats on your feet would be hard!

That’s great news. Keep on it — I bet that you’ll be able to walk without that cane soon.

I guess we really should be happy we have muscles to get tired! :o) !! Now, I’ve started naps at five-thirty before, which didn’t end ’til bedtime…. at which time they turned into just plain “sleep” instead of naps! :o) !! hugs, Nicky

Read your entry “Thank you Mr. President” which I thoroughly enjoyed. Wrote you a note and when I clicked on the Leave Note button the screen came up saying “You do not have access to this Dairy Page”. When I came back to your diary main page it does not even show that entry. Very confusing.

Do you have a web site to download free ebooks for your KIndle? How do you transfer them to your KIndle? I have been trying without any luck. I couldn’t read your latest entry.

I’m so glad you are taking advantage of this program and are working on improvement. Exercise and working out is not easy. If it were everybody would be doing it and we would not have the health problems we do in this country…

RYN: That’s really interesting because the teacher told us it only comes with versions 6 and 7. I have 7 and it doesn’t come with it. Instead, they built in an organizer into the program.

It’s really strange, I thought there was another entry here.
