Thoughts
I am trying to walk at least 15 minutes a day. This morning I walked for 20 minutes. It was not a fast walk but it was a walk with a stick. It is weird walking and paying such close attention to contracting the butt muscles!
I may go out with my camera this afternoon and look for signs of spring.
Our neighbor came over just as I left to tell us they are barbecuing hot dogs and hamburgers this afternoon and we are invited.
As I was sitting talking to the neighbor after I had finished this walk but before I went home, Fred came out and sat on the deck for a few minutes to finish his coffee.
I called my car insurance company on Saturday and talked to a very nice efficient young man–well, he sounded young, anyway. Someone named Kristin is going to call me tomorrow.
I have decided that tomorrow morning will be my last physical therapy appointment. I am tired of going and it is time I took more responsibility for doing the exercises at home. I have been a bit laxadaisical about it because I knew I got a good workout twice a week at the physical therapy place.
I have made a good start on my Italian homework. However, one exercise needs to be done again because I didn’t answer in the correct tense. This information suddenly popped into my head as I was walking.
Until later…

Are you planning to go back to Italy?

Does the tightening of the butt muscles just increase the strength of the tendons around the new hip? Or all we all supposed to do that? Have fun tonight at the barbecue! (((Hugs)))

Signs of spring are everywhere…I’m going to check my garden myself in a few moments 🙂

Wow, I got all sidetracked checking out that Joes’ Goals website. Very intriguing. I want to sign up, but then I think, “That’s all I need — one more thing to keep track of!” LOL! I applaud your desire to be more pro-active in the healing of your hip. We use those glute muscles more than we think we do!

Keep up with the PT if it’s paid for, don’t you think? OTOH, good idea to take more responsibility for yourself. Hugs,

The information popped into your head as you were walking? Are you starting to think in Italian???? How cool!!!!!

If I tightened my butt muscles when I walked and had to concentrate at the same time I would either walk into a wall or something or fall right over. I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, if you know what I mean. This is exactly the reason I come to this OD site. To see how others do it and simplify my life. have fun, from a flabby butted and truly unsteady….dan

The improving weather should make it easier for you to be more physical on your own now too. Best wishes.

ryn: I’m not a member of a church 🙂 Ernesto can’t help me because his wife won’t allow him to…..and Louise is going to be watching the girls for us. Everyone else is busy or won’t do it. I can’t blame them, really….I wouldn’t be doing it, either, if she had someone else. I feel so frustrated!

I think I would have less pain if I managed to relax my butt muscles when I walked. My muscles knot up. It’s BBQ season already? That’s an idea! I have been short on cooking ideas lately.
