Disney Adults?

I watched the video above.  Feel free to do the same.  It just happened to be on my main YouTube page.  Because it’s regarding Disney, I would never intentionally look for a video like that.  Disney is garbage.

For anyone who has read my writing, you’ll know that I despise most things Disney.  It wasn’t always like that, though for the foreseeable future, I will maintain this stance.

I don’t see Disney getting better any time soon.  Again, the most I can do is hope that they don’t fuck up Marvel too much, like they did their own intellectual properties.

As for Star Wars, well, the damage there has since been done.  I don’t know if Star Wars makes any kind of meaningful recovery…ever.

Now apparently, “Disney adults” are a thing.  Yes, this is a segment of the population of which I so desperately wish to be a part.

Lord help us.

Maybe I find it reassuring that I will never be a part of that group?  Yes, I still preoccupy myself with video gaming, the kind of hobby that some might consider to be juvenile, but with the prices of games, consoles, and accessories, this is definitely the kind of hobby that has, for a long time, been priced well out of the financial reach of most children.

Then again, the prices to get into any of Disney’s theme parks is similarly outrageous.  Still, I’m not paying a fucking dime to get into Disneyland, Disney World, or any other place that has “Disney” in the title.

I might pay $70 for a newly released video game, and not bat an eye doing it, but I’ll be damned if I spend any money to visit a Disney theme park.  Fuck that.

I have sense, as well as a multitude of other ways to spend my hard-earned money.

Disney adults.

If there was ever a particularly special group of people, this is it, and note that “special” in this instance is not intended to be flattering.

As I mentioned in an previous entry (“What It’s Like…”), I admit to crying.  I’ll still admit to crying today, the day after my mental health day.

But I’ll be damned if I ever shed a fucking tear at the mere sight of Cinderella’s castle in the distance.

I worked with a 40yo Disney adult in a previous job. It was disturbing. She went to DWorld every other year. Had an obscene collection of stuffed disney characters and other paraphernalia. Even her scrubs were Disney. She would break into this strange cartoon voice while in meetings. Then again, she was an only child who never left her parents’ home so…

I have never been to Disneyland or Disney world but I know people who go every year. I have no idea how they afford it. After hearing many negative things about the theme parks, I lost my interest in going, even if I could ever afford it.
