One month away…

Despite obvious problems with the site, exactly one month from today I plan to go ahead with my third straight blogathon. I had considered not going ahead cause of health issues, but since I’m not doing much right about now, I might as well go ahead. For those who are unaware of what a Blogathon is, I’ll explain. It’s a charity event where for one day the person writes one entry in their blog every 30 minutes. They write entries for 24 straight hours, making it a marathon for blogs. I’ve successfully completed two blogathons already and am eager to make it a third this year.

One reason why I’m eager to keep going is because it’s for a very, very good cause. This year’s blogathon is going to the dogs because I’m writing for the ‘Greyhound Protection League’. This great organization is a national, non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to protecting greyhounds from the exploitation and abuses they receive from the greyhound racing industry. Through education and continued media exposure, the public perception of greyhound racing has been be altered from that of a harmless spectator activity to its brutal reality. This is a great chairty to write for which is why I am excited to keep writing. According to the website, everything should be tip tip and ready to receive pledges on July 1st. That would give me about 27 days to try to build up as many pledges as possible. I’ll go through my usual channels to build donations, but as I’ve always said during the two previous blogathons: if someone is unable to donate money towards my cause, ideas for entries to help me get through the night are just as helpful. So with that in mind, I hope this will be another successful blotgathon and that I will have the same support and new suppor this year as I write for the hounds, Greyhounds that is.
