Moonlight

As darkness rises
A moon beam drops
Hidden splendor
A veil unlocks

Shadows cast
As visions twist
Revealing more
Of what’s been missed

In it’s beauty
It shines so bright
Reflecting deeper
With it’s piercing light

It burns, it yearns,
It dances with hopeful chances
Gleaming brightly
Revealing
Yet distinguishes so lightly

Gliding on the edges
Tickling your senses
Comfort starts to settle in
Yet plays with your advances

As morning comes
The moon beam fades
Wisp like whispers
The glimmer, it shimmers, it erases

But the light that hit
In that shining night
Lit something deeper
That cannot take flight

It stays tightly
Embedded deeply
Engrained forever
No longer sleepy

Waiting now
Waiting night
Waiting for…
My moonlight

This was written for someone I met 6 months ago. We shared an amazing time together. But it was destined to go nowhere. She was amazing in many ways and I am thankful for our time together. I miss our cuddles and long talks more than the sex. Although our physical chemistry was on point…
