It’s not always the best

Okay, here’s the whole thing.  From what I’ve seen and heard certain people have wanted to have Shannon in a way that could only be thought of as control, or ownership.  I can easily say that has felt that her mother has owned her.  Or at least feels that way.  This relationship causes people in high school to pick her and weed her out.  One story she told me was about a school dance that no one would ask her to go to.  Turned out that some huge bully threatened to beat up anybody who asked her so that her could have her to himself.  She didn’t know about this until later.  And then of course her marriage to Dan.  That was a complete control issue.  For some reason Shannon had this training in her that she had to be controlled or owned.  Question is, did it come from her mom?  And why would her mother have done this to her?

Another story Shannon would tell me was that after her mother married Larry she wouldn’t allow Larry and Shannon to do things together by themselves.  Here’s the question, did she not trust Larry?  Or did she not trust Shannon?  Or did she just think it was wrong?

One thing I do know is that Shannon is the most prepared perfect woman ever created.  Her looks.  Her mannerisms.  All these guys know it.  I know Justis whom she’s known for quite a while knows.  Her high school classmates knew it.  And her ex-husband knew it and still knows it.  And yes, I know it.  So, did her mother create this perfect storm to happen to her?  Because the biggest regret that I can hear from Shannon is that she never learned to truly feel like herself.

So what is the rotten piece that has always been inside of her that has caused her so much pain?  I believe it has something to do with feeling like she was set up.  Like she wasn’t even allowed to live her life the way she wanted to live it.  That’s probably why suicide seemed so easy to think about.  It would have been her choice.

The rotten piece needs to come out.  It’s still there.  It all centers around her mother.

Another question would be, what then was her mother trying to do?
