Things are finally looking up…

It took Ontario way too long to get their shit together, but we’re finally opening things back up over here after watching other provinces and many states in the US go back to normal way faster than we did. Restaurants are allowed indoor seating, movie theatres are reopening for the first time this year, and the Blue Jays might be back in the dome by the end of the month!  I promised Ethan that my brother and I would take him out to see the new Suicide Squad movie in a few weeks and he’s very excited about it. We watched Black Widow last weekend on Disney Plus, and while the kids liked it I felt it was subpar and the plot had more holes than Swiss cheese. I watched Amelie with my lady friend after the kids went home to remind myself what amazing movies look and feel like.

I’ve always been a bit of a hermit, but the last year or so has been even too much for me. I’ve done my part to get out and dine on the patios to help my favorite food places stay in business. Some of the places I went to did the patio thing so well that I hope they keep doing it moving forward. I’ve been making the best of the situation, and while I’m never the pinnacle of heath, I’m happy to say up to this point Covid hasn’t caught me yet. I don’t even know anyone who’s had it, and I guess for the most part that might be why.

I’ve been watching Kat a bit more these days. Her mom takes online night courses, so to help her out I pick up Kat from daycare those days so she can take the class uninterrupted. I take her back to my place, she stays for supper, and we hang out and watch cartoons or baseball till it’s time to go home. They opened a new park across the street from my place, and we’ve hit that place a few dozen times already. It’s rather unknown so it’s never too busy or crowded, which is nice cause other parks just have too many people. Last month, I took Kat for the whole weekend, the first time her and her mother were apart for more than a day. It went really well, and I’m getting another full weekend very soon. I’ve been enjoying this time with my daughter, and I hope she has enjoyed hanging around her dad and her brothers as well.

I’ve been working on some very interesting projects over the last few months, and am excited with how well the writing is going. I might have one or two new novels posted on Amazon/Smashwords by the end of the year, so I’m at least getting some stuff done. Links will be provided in a future entry when available. Needless to say, it’s some of my best work to date and it looks amazing so far.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer, and I’ll be around.

Peter
