Open Diary to go live (again!) this Friday
It has been a long road to get here, and first I want to thank all of you who have joined us here to help test the new site and provide so much valuable feedback over the last few months. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch this nascent re-community form, and has proven true all of the things I thought when I first started considering bringing OD back over two years ago. I also want to thank the engineers and designers who have been on our team for over a year – moving diary data, building a new secure platform, and ensuring that we are getting things just right for OD.
The next and hugely exciting step is to open the doors to everybody else – and as of now, we are on schedule to do that sometime this coming Friday, Jan. 26th. When that happens, we will be taking the testing password off the entrance to the site, and anybody will be able to come to the site and either reclaim an existing diary, or start a new one.
We are very excited to start welcoming back our other OD friends, and looking forward to having new friends who will hopefully join us!
P.S.
One change that I made today after a great deal of consideration, and a lot of fantastic input from our testers – we are reducing the subscription price for OD to $3.99 a month, or $39.99 for a year – this seems to be more sensible for all of us. There are a few people in the testing group here that paid the higher pricer – we will be issuing extensions to your subscriptions to add time to them to make up for the higher price. Thanks again!
