Farmer's wife, mama of 3 boys, and professional photographer, I've been writing in Open Diary since 2000. Through thick and thin, I've chronicled life here, starting as a 19 year old college student all the way through dating, marriage, and having my kids. It's crazy to think essentially the story of my entire adult life is still here, tucked away in these very entries. I can't wait to see how my story continues to grow...

Here and there.

If I only knew the drama that went along with anonymous online writing websites way back in 2000, let alone the fact that I'd still be here despite all of it!  Of course, you know I'd do it all over again.  I'm here for the long haul. Here are the facts for me.  I will…

  • The Last Four Years
    October 11, 2017
I wanted to write kind of a "catch up" entry before I start writing where I left off at Prosebox. Partly for new people here who have no idea who I am, and partly for those that I've recently re-connected with after four years of absence. The last four years have been good, mostly happy, and…

  • Hello Again, Open Diary
    October 10, 2017
Oh my goodness, have I missed this place! I was so excited to be invited to the testing phase and have spent the last day or so looking around and getting things figured out on my profile. It's definitely... different. (For posterity I dug up the screenshot of my old diary) but it was so…

I wrote a "Goodbye, Open Diary" entry over at Prosebox, but I felt like I owed one here, too.  I love that these last few days OD is coming alive with powerful, poignant, farewell entries from diarists, some coming out of the woodwork who haven't updated in year...

  • First Christmas in the New House*
    December 25, 2013
**I'm cross posting this from Prosebox so I apologize that the pictures are HUGE.  Since PB resizes the images, it's not an issue over there, but apparently it is here.  SORRY.  But at least you can see the pictures really good! LOL!**   **EDIT 2:  Ok so I'm going to...

  • Is this thing on?
    December 9, 2013
Dusting off the shelves over here... just wondering who still reads at OD, who is over at PB, etc? I've slacked on the cross posting, but the gist of it is that Jasper's cyst came back benign, (whew!) and the diagnosis was a Fibrous Hamartoma.  Nathan and I celebrated seven years of marriage...

  • Jasper’s Surgery
    November 18, 2013
I popped back on OD to do a cross post from Prosebox for any of you still here about Jasper's surgery.  I'll just copy and paste my entry! Well today was Jasper's surgery day! If you're just tuning in, a couple months ago we found a mysterious lump/cyst on his chest. It was larger than ...

  • OVER IT.
    November 2, 2013
I can't take it anymore.  I can't even cross-post anymore.  It's just getting ridiculous... clicking on something, waiting 2-3 minutes, then getting a time out error or page error or whatever the heck it is.  Finally getting something to work, and then, lo and behold, another page ...

  • Mr. Jasper Corey is ONE!
    November 1, 2013
Oh, my heart... I just spent a little time dealing with Open Diary slowness to read a few entries from exactly one year ago. A couple days before his birth, and then those first days AFTER his birth. Do you guys remember.... do you remember how AWFUL those first couple weeks were? As much as…

(Just a reminder, I'm over at Prosebox under the same name.  MissMeg).... Oh, Open Diary... why must you die a slow miserable death? Once again, rumors swirling that this is "the end"... I have taken screen shots of my "Favorites" list (it will always be Favorites to me!)...
