fear

“imagine yourself unafraid. you have no doubts, no worries, no fears of the unknown. the things you used to worry about do not exist. write about what you would do if this was the case. what would do you if you weren’t afraid?”

i would be more social. i would go to parties; meet more people. maybe i wouldn’t be afraid to have a drink at a house party.

i’ve had severe agoraphobia my entire life. i didn’t know about it–or even think i had it–until early high school when i was diagnosed with it by my therapist at the time. i couldnt go into stores without a “safe person”, and from a young age i would pretend to be sick to avoid school. my family thought it was just a “kid being a kid” until i grew into my teenage years, repeating the same methods of madness over and over. this is when i was introduced to therapy.
