Dear Diary III

The damage is 100% irreversible. I unfortunately will never be same; I literally trust no one, I have zero self worth, zero self esteem, I’m in constant fight or flight mode, and thanks to a mental illness – I am fighting a battle daily against myself…

“A man will look a woman dead in her eyes and lie without flinching. He’ll deny what she already knows, manipulate the truth, gaslight her into second-guessing her intuition, and then act confused when the damage is done. He’ll swear he loves her, swear he didn’t mean to hurt her, swear she’s the one… but still lie. And when she starts pulling away, when she stops believing his words and begins watching his actions, suddenly she’s “cold,” “distant,” or “acting different.”

But what men like that fail to realize is trust doesn’t die overnight. It erodes… slowly… every time a woman catches a lie, forgives it, and silently tucks away the pain. She wanted to believe him. She tried to believe him. But eventually, even the most loyal heart gets tired of being played with.

So no, she’s not being dramatic. She’s not overreacting. She’s responding to the fact that you looked her in the face, fed her lies, and expected her to swallow them whole. She’s protecting herself from the heartbreak she knows is coming if she keeps trusting someone who’s proven he can’t be honest.

You can’t betray a woman’s trust and then be surprised when she stops offering it. You can’t lie repeatedly and expect her to look at you the same. At some point, the damage becomes irreversible… and when that happens, love doesn’t leave first… trust does. And once trust is gone, everything else begins to fall apart.”
